Strange way to make a first post but here goes...
Hey all, new to the Golf and VW world. I come from mainly Japanese high performance cars (NSX, S2000, Nissan Skyline GTRs) and aircooled Porsches.
Just traded by 2006 Cayman S for a more practical yet fun 17 R with 38K kms. Everything is great except for a strange plastic-y, almost clutch like smell when I park and shut off the engine. The engine bay was dirty when I got it so I did a light detail, cleaned up a lot of grime and checked for loose bits and pieces but the smell persists.
Anyone else have this issue? Is this a normal Golf R thing?
