why custom tuning is way better than off the shelf maps, ots. (ots is NOT tuning)

first thing is that i will dispel the wording. when you down load a software into your ecu its not tuning. its called remapping.
tuning is when you take YOUR car to a tuner and he/she will then tunes your car by adjusting its mapping parameter. each car is essentially different so when you tune its going to have different maps.

and trust me the car will drive amazingly differently when you actually get this done. ots maps is nowhere near as refined and great as a custom tune.
the annoying part is that i hear someone who says they just got tuned and all they did was download a map from a generic database that is meant to be used on cars with so many different variables.
what tuning does in a nutshell is to adjust certain parameters for all the different parts you added to the car or just a stock car and makes it run efficiently.

if you listen to any company that really does tuning youll hear the word "mapping" more often for ots maps instead of tunes.
here is a video i found recently, that should explain more about the tuning idea. since cobb tuning is the newest player for making easy custom tuning lets look at what they do for us.
