Bought my 2016 S3 about 6 weeks ago....greatly impressed with one glaring exception. The Conti 5Ps that came with the 19" wheel option on my car are undoubtedly the noisiest tires I've ever owned. Can't even hear the radio when driving on concrete conglomerate surfaces. They are mind numbing. Have tried playing with the inflation pressures with unsat results. My next option is going to be to replace the tires and I am currently looking at Conti DWS 06s. This may be necessary anyway since I live in an area that gets cold with snow in the winter. Anyone been down this road that could share some thoughts??

Have you pondered the idea of moving up to a 40 series tire?

Thought about it but believe the problem is with the tread/compound design. I have a Grand Sport that came with Goodyear runflats that were very noisy...they're 30/35 series tires. When I replaced the Goodyears with Michelin Super Sports (of the same size) the noise, and several other problems went away. Going to 40s might soften up the ride a bit but the car's suspension and chassis is designed for the low profile tires and I don't have a problem with ride quality. Besides that, I really don't want to get into calibration issues that 40s on the stock wheels could raise.

Keep us posted, I'm curious to know as well if the DWS 06s are smoother.

Just had a set of 235/35/19 DWS 06's installed today. I've only driven them a short distance from Discount Tire to home, but so far they do seem to be quieter. It's still early, but they do seem to be a bit more 'compliant' - without being soft.

First impressions of the 06's are that they are quieter...not as much as I had hoped but certainly better the 5Ps. Turn-in may not be quite as sharp but clearly within my expectations. Should be an all around improvement for my driving situation here in the Reno area. Ride quality is good but the car still feels adequately planted.

Great to hear. Let us know how they perform in the rain too.

Oh yes....I would love to do that. If it would only rain/snow.

Final thought... best set-up seems to be 36 psi front and 34 psi rear for an light load config. It did rain today and handling is excellent.

Thanks for the review. I'm on the same boat as you, the stock tires are really loud.

Driving a S3 and you care about the tire noise?
All I can hear is the engine and catback sound and I pretty enjoy that

my '17 came with pirelli p-zero's (summer). they are fantastic if you are looking for another set. I'm in the San Fran area, so Reno isn't too far, but you get some snow I am sure so might not be the best option.

im curious to see how they wear as some folks have been saying they don't last long. Anyone got suggestions if the P zero's don't last?
